Descriptions of new classes:
Spanish: Gift of Language
A fun & engaging language class for children ages 5-8.
Gift of Language uses flashcards to introduce children to the foreign language. Teachers introduce vocabulary and sentence structure when the flash cards are placed in sequence.
Students read and “speak” the visuals, create new sentences by moving the flash cards around by doing this they are developing fluency and proficiency in the target language. We supplement the learning experience with crafts, board games and projects that relate to the flashcards that are introduced in class.
Art Detectives
Become a super sleuth as we learn to decode clues in great works of art and then create original masterpieces using a variety of media and techniques. Drawing, painting, collage, and construction projects will be presented in a highly engaging format that both educates and entertains young learners.
Parent and Me Artplay
Dress for mess as we Learn through doing in this Fun, process based class that allows little artists to explore paint, clay, and craft.
Art Through Literature
A hands-on study of award winning picture book illustrators and their creative techniques. Create paintings, drawings, and collage informed by Caldecott winning artists.
Play-Well TEKnologies
LEGO™ Pre-Engineering and Fundamentals
Create, Play, and Learn. Build a town, city, or star base with houses, buildings, pyramids, bridges, tunnels, towers, and more. Build motorized cars, trains, buses, and trucks; race them; crash them; repair them. Explore the many possibilities of LEGO® building systems while learning useful construction techniques.

PAINTBOX MIXED MEDIA ART CAMP
Experiment, learn, play, and create in an end of summer Art Fest. Projects will include collage, painting, printing, and constructing 3D sculptures using traditional and recycled materials.
Students bring their lunches and if desired a disposable camera to record the fun!
