Summer Camp Schedule
June 22 - August 28th, 2009

Week long camp classes run Monday through Friday, half or full day available.
Full day sessions will run from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm and will include a lunch/ game
break from 12 noon to 1:00. Please provide lunches that do not require refrigeration.
Late afternoon classes begin at 5:00 pm and are for children ages 7 and up.
*Advance registration and payment in full is required for all classes.
There will be no make-up classes or pro-rating for summer camps.

Summer Camp Class Descriptions:
Animal Safari
Get wild on this mixed media journey through the animal kingdom! Use paint, clay, cardboard, and drawing techniques to create your own menagerie. All skill levels are welcome.
Art Under The Sea
Dive deep into the depths of the art that lies underwater!
Make creative collages of your own underwater world!
Build your very own fish tank with your very own fish! (you'll never have to feed these!)
The sea's the limit!
Art for your Doll
Bring your 18 inch doll to art class all week long and we'll make her a smock, an artist palette, a beret, and tiny paint brushes so she can be your art partner!
Clay Animation: taught by Movies by Kids
Have you ever wanted to make your own movie like "Chicken Run" or "Wallace and Gromit?" Join this class where students storyboard their ideas, then design, create, and animate their own clay character. Build an armature or "skeleton" for the character, then add layers of clay until it is camera ready. Learn to operate the digital camera to make your charater come to life. Add voices and create your own voice-over.
All movies will be edited and a DVD will be provided to all students.

Oh the places we'll go! Enjoy classic stories and learn about the amazing author/artist while creating fun in a box, a hat for a cat, thing one and thing two, and much, much more.
Dramagination
Queen Laura leads a unique Fairy-tale Theatre Workshop that captivates boys and girls ages 3-6. Includes original costumes, pretending, and props galore!
Faux Food
A mixed media banquet! Create healthy food sculptures and decadent desserts using clay, paint, paper, glitter, and more!
Handstand Kids Cooking Workshop at Paintbox Kids
Little cooks travel the globe as they discover the people, places,
language, and cooking skills of Italy, Mexico, and China.
Children will prepare and eat a meal during each session. Class
is based on the award winning Handstand Kids cookbook series. All ages welcome!
Lego Animation: taught by Movies by Kids
Ready to take your fascination with Legos to the next level? The ideas will be yours and you will build the sets with all the Legos you need to create amazing movies. Learn to operate all the equipment to bring your masterpiece to the big screen. Whether its the re-creation of an epic pirate battle scene, or an adventure in another galaxy, this workshop is the ultimate place to create with legos.

LEGO™ Pre-Engineering and Fundamentals
Create, Play, and Learn. Build a town, city, or star base with houses, buildings, pyramids, bridges, tunnels, towers, and more. Build motorized cars, trains, buses, and trucks; race them; crash them; repair them. Explore the many possibilities of LEGO® building systems while learning useful construction techniques.

Come learn how zany creating art can be! Think outside the box while using strange art materials in exciting new ways.
Puppet Workshop
Design and create small and large scale puppets culminating in a presentation for parents on the last day of class.

Design an imaginary world and the creatures that live there! Large and small scale projects range from dioramas to life size installations.
